About Nadya Andreeva
Hi & Thank you for visiting my website. Here is a short story about me and my path to yoga.
I was born in Orenburg, Russia where I started practicing Hatha yoga at the age of 12 under the guidance of my father. Since 2001 I closely studied and worked with Yug Purush Swami Parmananji Maharaj and his disciples in Russia and India, translating during yoga retreats and leading Hatha yoga classes. In 2006 and 2008 I spent close to 3 months travelling and living in the ashrams in India to deepen my practice and study ancient traditions of yoga, including pranayama and meditation techniques. I have also studied yoga therapy with Vladimir Boiko, the most recognized yoga teacher and therapist in Moscow, Russia. In the US I received my Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification at Yoga Effects. I hope to share the joy of yoga with my students by focusing on subtle movements in the body and breath that create heightened body awareness and mindfulness. I enjoy teaching a challenging Vinyasa style class that combines flowing movements and breathing with detailed attention to proper body alignment. Classes always include a well-rounded set of poses that build strength and balance in addition to flexibility. Each class incorporates breathing, a flowing sequence of asanas, and a deep relaxation. You will be leaving the class with a sense of accomplishment, high energy, calm & clear mind, and a stronger body. Besides yoga, I am very interested in Ayurveda, especially its potential to keep us healthy in a stressful & constantly changing environment. Corporate wellness is another passion of mine. I believe that yoga has a huge potential to help create highly productive, engaged, and stress free work place. My background in Organizational Development and Human Resources combined with a recent MA in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology from New York University allow me to use the best of both worlds (Yoga and I/O Psych) to collaborate with each corporate client in the most efficient way to create a more balanced work/life approach.
